2D1N @ Batam!
Many people (/Singaporeans) travel to Batam, mainly because of the affordable massages and kueh lapis.
We travel to Batam mainly to getaway from our stressful life and have we-we time and that everything during Valentine season is expensive.
Having visited Batam 3-4 times, usually with tour, we decided to make a free and easy trip by ourselves. Through Groupon, we managed to booked our Batam tickets via Majestic Ferry @ $38 (2-way). Do check out their promo tickets on and off, not via Groupon :/

Shameless Selfie with Boyfriend before I dozed off for the ride.
We arrived at Batam Centre Terminal at about 9am. To our horror, they say that the shopping malls are only opened at 10am!!!! There goes our breakfast, so headed back into the Terminal and had KFC.

A small little burger and Popcorn Chicken that cost approximately SGD$3. We sat there for a good 45mins before heading to check if the linkway to MegaMall was opened.
What I loved about Batam, is their inexpensive aracade! With 150,000 Rupiah (approximately SGD$15), we got 300,000 Rupiah worth of credits! Each game in the arcade ranges between 4,000-9,000 Rupiah (that’s about 40cents-a dollar!) Had so much fun, they should bring in BishiBashi too!
Next, we headed to the Supermarket at the basement too!
Things to buy:
1) Pantyliners, Pads (My MUST-BUY whenever I visit Indonesia)
2) Magnums
3) Shampoos & Conditioners
4) SNACKS! We’re totally in love with the Cheese Waffles bites.
Around 1pm, we took a cab at the entrance of MegaMall to our Hotel, near Baloi/ Nagoya. The cabs here are usually at a fixed price, and they have a standard list of how much to charge. Usually to Nagoya, its about 80,000 Rupiahs (~SGD$8) and the journey takes about 20 mins.
Having known about this new hotel, which is located conveniently near BCS Mall, we chose this: iHotel Baloi. Through Agoda.com, we booked a Superior Room for SGD$83 (breakfast included), and the room is reasonably big. Love the bed!

Trust me, its worth every cent, you won’t regret staying here because everything here is so fantastic. The service, cleanliness (I’m quite particular about this if you know me) and most importantly, the view.
As I requested for high floor, we managed to get a room at Level 12. Guess what, directly from our view, we can see Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands!! Was hoping that we could lie on the sofa to gaze stars at night, but sadly, there were no stars for the night. To ease the little disappointment I had, at least we/(I) managed to catch a glimpse of fireworks (probably 2 secs, COS I WAS IN THE BATHROOM!! What a timing.) set the locals(?).
I was quite tempted to try the Spa service in the hotel, but didn’t get to try it. So probably if you had try it, tell me how was it! 😀
Spent the rest of our day at BCS Mall. Oh by the way, there’s 2 arcades here! One of them has bishi bashi! But we didn’t play cos it was coin tokens.
Did my nails too! For 230,000 Rupiahs (~SGD$23). Wasn’t very satisfied, but well. If you pay peanuts, you get monkey. (Quote from Class 95FM) Haha.

And yes! They have infinity pool here!! How cool.
Legg-fies 😀

Cooked dinner for supper! 😀

Well, when heading back to Cable Car Point, approach the reception counter to ask for the shuttle bus. Otherwise, it will never arrive.
